CREATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR PRINT, BROADCAST, WEB & SOCIAL
My approach is about really understanding my client’s message – often times helping to refine it, and then crafting an effective means to deliver that message. Print, broadcast, web, social media…let’s work to get your message heard by your audience.
About Me
Do you remember the earliest step you took in what is now your career? I think for me it would be obsessing over the characters in my favorite comic strip as a kid – Peanuts. From Snoopy to Garfield to Bill the Cat and beyond, a fascination with form and illustration kept me engaged in creative pursuits through high school and into college, where I studied Visual Communication Design at Purdue University.
My first paying gig after graduating was working at the CBS affiliate for central Illinois, WCIA Channel 3. I was in the basement of the station with one of my favorite bosses to date, making on-air graphics and learning how to develop printing plates and operate the department’s printing press. I’ve since moved on to operating high capacity production full color digital press setups, though there are definitely days when these complex systems act up and I long for the straightforward simplicity of the old AB Dick.
My point to all of this backstory is what makes what I can offer to you relevant. Each step has been an opportunity to approach with an open mind and curiosity. Each step has been a valuable learning experience to sometimes use again on a daily basis or to tuck away and dust it off when the need arises. I began my creative career rooted firmly in print design and have evolved with a profession that has embraced web and social media as powerful tools for communicating a story.
Since you’re still reading, allow me to share a few fun facts about myself. My wife and I were married on the island of Maui; we have two lovely daughters who both skate for a junior roller derby league; I occasionally brew my own beer and often bake – perfecting my bagel recipe is my latest obsession; and I’ve actually been struck by lightning. (I don’t recommend it.)
